The Universe is Your Magnet

Do you believe in the power of positive thinking? I'm reading this book and that's the main premise: Thoughts have a magnetic power so whatever you think about and send into the universe is what you draw to you. Good and positive thoughts draw good and positive things to you, and bad, negative stuff - well, you get the picture...
It's an interesting concept and the book is written in a very positive way. It instructs the reader to think about what they want in life. What would make them really happy. Then send those thoughts into the universe - for example someone might say: I want to be wealthy and successful. So at some point the universe would deliver whatever you need to be wealthy and successful. But don't ask for a bacon cheese burger because it doesn't work that fast. And don't ask for The Rock to have a flat tire in front of your house and need to use the telephone and then decide to stay. That would be a misuse of the universes magnet and besides that's what I'm asking for. Get your own wish.
What will you ask the universe to deliver to you?

stimulating post, angie. i agree. i am a proponent of always trying to find the positive - even when something negative happens. i firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, and it is usually the trying times that teach us the most and make us stronger.

i know that sounds straight out of a hallmark card, but i mean it. and i did not copyright. i just made that up.

Great post! yes, I believe in positive thinking returning positive things. But it still doesn't explain why some people just have bad luck. surely they don't want the bad luck. :)

I'm sure they don't want bad luck. And the theory on that is the universe doesn't distinquish words like 'don't' or 'stop' so if someone sends out the cosmic message of 'I don't want to meet Sasquatch.' the universe interprets that as "I want Sasquatch" and before you know it an oversized furball with a beef jerky fixation is camped out in the living room. Of course I haven't finished reading the book yet and I may have gotten that slightly misquoted. Or the other thing could be that even though I've clearly stated that no one else is supposed to ask for The Rock to show up on their doorstep in the pouring rain and needing a dry towel, they might have done just that and, you know, maybe some not so positive thoughts could have been sent their direction. Completely by accident, of course.

I agree it's always best to be positive. When I'm met with a disappointment, I only allow myself to dwell on it for a short amount of time--just to get it out of my system. Then I put the negative feelings aside and move on.
